Alyx Simpson – Director, The Element
Alyx Simpson has five years of experience as a performing arts teacher, with a specialisation in singing technique and vocal arrangement. From teaching children and adults of all ages across a range of individual needs, Alyx became increasingly fascinated by the research around the benefits of performing arts as an educational tool for children who have experienced difficulty in more rigid, formal education structures.
This interest quickly became a passion when Alyx’s own childcare needs revealed a lack of accessible, affordable, creative learning spaces for children with special needs. Shortly thereafter, The Element – which provides supportive, creative, and affordable care for children with diverse needs – was born.
Alyx has a number of academic and vocational qualifications, including: TEFL Teaching at Level 4, Project Management from Prince2, Fitness Instruction Level 2, Exercise to Music Level 2, Accreditiation in First Aid, and Food Hygiene Level 2. Alyx is now studying Health and Social Care QCF Level 5 to provide an ever-increasing standard of care for her Little Learners.
